Hello everyone, today I will share with you the little knowledge of wheel upgrade. According to the current regulations on car modification, the wheel hub can be modified and upgraded without changing the tire parameters.

As the main load-bearing part of the entire vehicle, the wheel hub is the most important safety component that affects the performance of the entire vehicle.

A wheel hub, or a set of wheels, not only has to withstand the vertical dead weight load of the vehicle itself when it is static, but also needs to withstand the starting, braking, turning, stone impact, and unevenness of the road surface from all directions when the vehicle is driving. Various dynamic loads and irregular stress tests.

At the same time, as one of the important parts of a car, the wheel hub has also been added as a reference to measure the quality and grade of the whole car, so as to maintain the quality and value of a car.

So this is why many friends want to change the wheels, because many times only need to change a set of wheels, you can change the aura of a car.

First come a comparison chart:

After reading the comparison chart, the next step is the first question you face when changing wheels: how to choose wheel data?

When we decide to modify our own wheels, we must first remember a few key words, namely: pitch diameter (PCD), offset (OFF-SET, also known as ET), center hole (HUB HOLE, also known as CB) ).

Let's talk about these keywords separately.

1. Pitch diameter (PCD): This is an installation parameter that must be consistent. If the PCD of the wheel hub is different from the PCD of the vehicle, it is generally not recommended that you use this wheel hub.

2. Offset (ET value): In fact, there is no need to entangle too much. Just remember: Under the same width, the smaller the ET, the more outward the wheel hub, and vice versa. The main use of the ET value is to adjust the position of the hub on the vehicle after you determine the width of the hub.

3. Center hole (CB): The center hole data of each car is different, but just remember one thing: if you buy a wheel hub CB>vehicle CB, you need to use a central hole collar commonly known as a "reducing ring". If the wheel CB you bought is less than the CB of the vehicle, it is generally recommended that you change the wheel. Therefore, it is better to choose the wheel hub CB> the wheel hub of the vehicle CB than to buy the wheel hub CB <the wheel hub of the vehicle CB.

For the above data, generally the wheel hub will be engraved on the back, as well as the factory logo, trademark, etc., and some wheels will also have quality certification marks such as JWL and TUV on the surface or back. If you encounter a wheel that is not engraved, Then please pay more attention.

When we choose the right wheel, the next thing we face is the data problem.

Generally, when upgrading the wheels, most people will refer to the wheel and tire data of the original high-end models to purchase, but only make some adjustments to the ET value to achieve the effect of flushing the fender.

In most cases, the upgrade of the wheel hub is generally 1 to 2 inches larger than the original size, and the width is determined according to the actual situation and personal needs.

However, no matter how to replace your wheels and tires, you must remember:

First, as the wheel hub becomes larger, the tire must become thinner. If you are not sure how wide the tires to use, you can search the tire (wheel) calculator on the Internet, enter your original factory data, and then enter the modified data, there will be errors.

Second, the outer diameter of the rim tire should be controlled within a reasonable range. Generally speaking, the size error is acceptable within 3%. If the error value is higher than 3%, it needs to be tested according to the actual vehicle situation.

Third, don't be greedy for cheap. Wheels pay for what you pay.
